IBPS( Institute of Banking Personnel Selection ) has recently issued official announcement for common written test for recruitment of Specialist officers in 19 mainstream public sector banks.
IBPS Conducted written tests for posts of PO/MTs in September 2011 and for clerks posts in November 2011. Now IBPS Has announced first ever common written exam for posts of Specialist officers in 19 public sector banks. The posts covered in this common exam are as follows :-
I.T. Officer (Scale-I ) (Post Code - 1)
Agricultural Field Officer (Scale - I)(Post Code - 2)
Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale - I)(Post Code - 3)
Law Officer (Scale - I )(Post Code - 4)
Technical Officer (Scale - I) (Post Code - 5)
HR/Personnel Officer (Scale - I) (Post Code - 6)
Marketing Officer (Scale - I)(Post Code - 7)
I.T. Officer (Scale - II)(Post Code - 8)
Law Officer (Scale - II)(Post Code - 9)
The candidates passing this exam will get direct entry into the interview/GD(as decided by the bank) for above mentioned specialist officer's posts.

Eligibility Criteria (As on 01.12.2011)
I.T. Officer
(Scale-I) .
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed A Graduate or Post - Degree in any Computers related trade (Computer Science/IT/Electronics and communication/Electronics and Tele-communication/Electronics and Instrumentation),
OR,
Graduate in any trade having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level.
No Experience required.
Agricultural Field Officer (Scale-I)
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed A Degree in any Agricultural Trade,
No Experience required.
Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale - I)
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed a post Graduate Degree in Hindi( with English as a subjects at the degree level) OR in Sanskrit( with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree level) ,
No Experience required.
Law Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB),
No Experience required.
Technical Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (B.Tech.) or B.Pharm. ,
No Experience required.
HR/Personnel Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Having completed Graduate and Post Graduate degree/diploma in Personnel Management or any other trade with specialization in HRD.
No Experience required.
Marketing Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
MBA in Marketing / 2 years PGDBA / PGDBM or any degree or diploma with specialization in Marketing,
No Experience required.
I.T. Officer (Scale - II)
Age to be between 21 - 40 Years,
Should have completed A Graduate or Post - Degree in any Computers related trade (Computer Science/IT/Electronics and communication/Electronics and Tele-communication/Electronics and Instrumentation),
OR,
Graduate in any trade having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level.
Experience required - Minimum one year.
Law Officer (Scale - II)
Age to be between 21 - 40 Years,
Should have completed A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB),
Experience required - Minimum Three Years of service in legal dept of any public sector firm,
Age Relaxation Criteria
For SC/ST - 5 Years,
For OBC - 3 Years,
For PWD - 10 Years,
For Ex-Serviceman - 5 Years,
Written Test Pattern
The written test may be conducted online of offline which will have 200 questions for a total of 200 marks and to be done in 120 minutes. The structure
of test is as shown:-

There is Negative Marking for wrong answers of .25 of the total marks for the question.
Scorecards
Candidates passing the exam will be given a scorecard Which will be valid for One year.
Public sector banks looking to recruit for Specialist officers posts will notify eligibility (age, education, minimum IBPS test score etc). Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria can send in their applications & proceed directly to Interview or Group discussion (According to selection Criteria as decided by the bank).
How to Apply
Application Fee is Rs.50 (SC/ST/PWD) or Rs. 450 (others).
Payment can be done in Online or Offline Mode. Both are as described Below:-
Payment of fees via the ONLINE MODE
The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
The payment can be made by using only Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or
Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated whose print out have to be
submitted with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.
Note that Candidates must download the call letter and Information Handout for common Specialist officers exam 2012 from IBPS website after Feb 28, 2012. it will not be sent through post.
Payment of fees via the OFFLINE MODE
Payment in Offline Mode can be made at any branch of Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Central bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank & United Bank of India by using this Payment challan. Verify the details in challan and keep it safe as it has to be submitted at the time of test
After obtaining payment receipt, application has to be made online at IBPS website for which a registration number & password would be received in email/SMS. It is necessary to upload your Photograph and signature in the application.
Candidates have to bring following documents at the time of test:-
Call Letter
Original fee payment receipt (fee payment challan / e-receipt)
Original photo-identity proof (And a Photocopy)
